The time has come for me to write!
So thrilled you are here for the very first issue of my newsletter :)
This first issue of my author newsletter was supposed to be PERFECT.
I have been thinking and studying and planning for—literally—years, all with a fantasy that one day, I would find the time to strategize, design, write, illustrate, and send out a concise, witty, thoughtful, engaging first issue to you.
Alas.
Were I to wait for such perfection, this newsletter would never—never—get written.
Instead, I’m going to share a short story I just wrote for the wonderful #50PreciousWords writing contest. If you recognize what I’m riffing off for the title of this issue, then the subject won’t be a surprise.

My child and I read a biography about Montgomery last year, and the many tragedies in her life have stayed with me. It was a creative joy to spend time reflecting on this complex, challenging writer with the help of some wonderful critique partners.
I’d love to know—have you read any of L.M. Montgomery’s books? If so, which book would you most want to visit on vacation?
